The Hue City People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 13655/UBND-CT dated September 10, 2026, on strengthening inspections of food supplies at educational institutions in the area. This is a measure to implement the Prime Minister's Directive No. 33/CT-TTg dated August 14, 2026, contributing to ensuring food safety, health, and students' rights.
Comprehensive control, rigorous inspection, and strict handling of violations
Scope of school food supply chain inspections
According to the directive, the Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to take the lead, coordinating with the Department of Health, Department of Education and Training, Department of Agriculture and Environment, City Police, Market Surveillance Sub-Department, People's Committees of communes and wards, and the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team to advise on establishing or supplementing members of the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team under Decision No. 3992/QD-UBND dated December 29, 2025, of the Hue City People's Committee.
At the same time, the relevant agencies are advising on the development of a comprehensive inspection plan for food supply operations serving preschools, primary schools and educational institutions offering day-boarding or boarding arrangements.
The inspection focused on legal records, food safety assurance conditions, origin, provenance, and food quality, as well as storage, transportation, and delivery procedures along with related matters.
Through inspections, violations must be promptly detected, handled, or reported to competent authorities for strict handling in accordance with regulations. The review and inspection campaign is required to be completed in October 2026, with findings reported to the City People's Committee before September 14, 2026.

Building safe food supply chains
The City People's Committee also required maintaining regular quarterly inspections and evaluations, as well as conducting unannounced inspections when necessary. This approach aims for routine control rather than focusing only on peak periods.
Strictly controlling food supplies at schools is not only a food safety requirement but also helps foster a safe educational environment and raises the accountability of management agencies, educational institutions, and food supply organizations and individuals.
In the long term, controlling everything from origin and quality to preservation, transportation, and delivery will contribute to building a transparent, safe, and responsible food supply chain. This is also the foundation for Hue to move toward a sustainably developed education system, where student health is placed at the center./.
