In the joyful spirit of celebrating the Buddha's Birthday (Buddhist Era 2570) and looking forward to the vibrant activities of Hue Festival 2026, the Vegetarian Food Festival – Hue Festival 2026 promises to be a unique cultural highlight, helping promote the image of Hue—a land rich in cultural tradition, humanistic values, and culinary quintessence—to both domestic and international visitors.

Organized jointly by the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Hue City and the Hue Festival 2026 Organizing Committee, the event takes place over two days, May 28–29, 2026 (corresponding to the 12th–13th of the 4th lunar month), on Nguyen Dinh Chieu Walking Street, Thuan Hoa Ward, Hue City. The opening ceremony will be held at 16:00 on May 28, 2026, kicking off a series of meaningful cultural and community activities promoting a green, healthy lifestyle and the spirit of compassion and benevolence in society.
This year's festival brings together 56 booths featuring about 100 unique vegetarian dishes from hotels, restaurants, pagodas, and culinary establishments across and beyond the city. The program is expected to serve over 5,000 visitors who come to explore, experience, and savor vegetarian dishes infused with the heritage of the Ancient Capital of Hue.
More than just an event introducing the art of vegetarian cooking, the festival is also an occasion to honor the cultural depth of Hue cuisine. Through the skillful hands of chefs and culinary artisans, familiar ingredients are transformed into light yet sophisticated dishes, harmonious in flavor, color, and nutritional value. Each dish not only satisfies the palate but also conveys a message of a healthy lifestyle in harmony with nature and celebrates humanistic values in modern life.

In the flow of integration and development, culture always serves as a bridge between tradition and modernity. Vegetarian cuisine, guided by the philosophy of goodness and the compassionate spirit of Buddhism, has increasingly become a trend of community interest. Through this festival, the Organizing Committee hopes to spread the message of green, peaceful, and sustainable living, while contributing to building Hue's image as an attractive cultural and culinary destination for the region and the whole country.
The highlight of the Vegetarian Culinary Festival - Hue Festival 2026 is its profound humanitarian significance. All funds raised from sponsorships and donations during the program will be used by the Organizing Committee for charitable activities, social welfare, and livelihood support for underprivileged people, poor studious students, and vulnerable groups in the area. This helps uphold the nation's fine tradition of mutual affection and support, while affirming the accompanying role of Buddhism in community-oriented activities.
According to the Organizing Committee, the festival is not only a cultural venue for locals and tourists, but also contributes to promoting the brand "Hue - Culinary Capital" through the distinctive values of traditional vegetarian cuisine. It is also an opportunity for service businesses, restaurants, hotels, and Buddhist pagodas to network and introduce the unique art of Hue vegetarian culinary craft to the public.

Detailed information about the program agenda will be updated on social media platforms and the Hue Buddhist Fanpage.
