Posted date: 03/04/2026

Not only a familiar fundraising bake sale by students of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Cakes For Charity 2026 also showcases how young people choose to engage with community life through kindness, perseverance, and responsibility. In its 11th season, the project returns with a message of hope, sharing, and the aspiration to use small deeds to create real value.

Taking place on March 23, 25, and 27, 2026 at Lobby A - B of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted (Ams), the Cakes For Charity 2026 program is organized by Ams Baking Club under the sponsorship of the school's Youth Union. Ams Baking Club was established in 2014, and the Cakes For Charity program began in 2015 and has been maintained annually. From a student club activity, the event has gradually become a familiar gathering place for generations of Ams students, while also attracting the attention of high school students across Hanoi.

Themes and fundraising activities of the program

What made Cakes For Charity stand out was not how many cakes were sold, but how the organizers chose to convey the meaning of the program. This year's season, themed "Rising Reverie," evoked a dreamlike space where seemingly forgotten dreams were given a chance to be rekindled. The "pastry park" concept built for the event was not merely decorative, but rather a way for the organizers to tell a story of hope and the revival of the beautiful things in life.

The program's menu includes treats like Red Velvet Cupcakes, Creme Brulee Donuts, Lava Chocolate Cakes, and Matcha Tarts. But clearly, the value of Cakes For Charity does not lie in the names of the pastries. These items are a vehicle to connect young people with a greater cause: fundraising, spreading compassion, and bringing community care closer to underprivileged children. The organizers stated that all proceeds from the cake sales will continue to be dedicated to supporting those in need, especially young children.

In recent years, the program's funds have been successively transferred to the "Chap Canh De Xu Phinh" Fund, Thanh Tam Shelter, Deaf Children's Class, Operation Smile Vietnam, students of Tan My Chanh Secondary School, and communities affected by natural disasters. Between 2022 and 2025 alone, the funds raised were recorded at 30 million VND, 35 million VND, 30 million VND, and 40 million VND, respectively.

These figures partly reflect the organizational efficiency and the ability to sustain the program over multiple seasons. From product preparation, event operations, and media outreach to post-event activities, Cakes For Charity was carried out in a relatively professional and structured manner. This also serves as a foundation for building trust and maintaining community reach.

A generation of students who dare to dream and take action

Beyond its community impact, Cakes For Charity also reflects a notable trend in contemporary school life: students no longer just want to join extracurricular activities for fun; they want to create tangible social value through their own capabilities. The event's organizing committee established specific targets, ranging from reach on Facebook and Instagram to audience engagement, interaction growth, and the number of participants. For a student-run club, such structured planning demonstrates an organizational mindset that extends far beyond running a simple internal event.

Sharing the significance of the program, Le Thao Nguyen, Head of the Organizing Committee for Cakes For Charity 2026, said that the organizers hope attendees come not only to buy cakes or join a fun activity, but also to truly experience the value of sharing.

When young people join hands in even the smallest tasks—from preparing products and setting up event spaces to spreading the message—those very small actions can help bring faith and support to children in need of care.

Cakes For Charity 2026 may have started with cakes, but what truly remains does not lie in their sweetness. It is about how a group of students used their abilities to create a meaningful, profound activity that touches the community.

In an era where young people are often viewed with skepticism about their haste, initiatives like Cakes For Charity send a message that youth are entirely capable of living responsibly, organizing, giving back, and pouring their hearts into causes greater than themselves. Perhaps the most valuable aspect of the program is not merely the funds raised each season, but the preservation of a simple belief: when kindness is pursued with sincerity and perseverance, its impact will always spread far and wide.
