On November 10, 2013, at the office of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association in Hanoi, the PGS Coordination Committee held a regular meeting to review implemented activities and roll out subsequent activities.

Assessment of PGS Activities
Monitoring and certification in Luong Son, Thanh Xuan
Attending the meeting were members of the Coordination Committee, Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Thuy — Vice President of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA), and Ms. Pham Kim Oanh — staff of the VOAA Science and Cooperation Center.
Ms. Tu Tuyet Nhung, Head of the PGS Vietnam Coordination Committee, assessed the monitoring, inspection, and certification activities in the Luong Son and Thanh Xuan intergroups.
Luong Son Intergroup
The three groups of Cay Gao, Dong Suong, and Suoi Coc, after their transition period, were inspected and granted first-time certification. The two organic pomelo groups of Tan Son and Go Bai requested to withdraw from PGS due to a lack of benefits from participation; therefore, Luong Son will no longer have PGS organic pomelos.
The organic chicken product of member Nguyen Thi Dung, from the Dam Da group, has been certified after one year of applying PGS organic livestock standards.

Thanh Xuan Intergroup and future plans
Six hectares under conversion in Thanh Xuan have not been certified because farmers voluntarily used Que Lam organic fertilizer, which is not on the PGS permitted input list. The conversion period was extended by three months; the Trung and Tu Nguyen groups were also suspended from certification for three months.
Members agreed on the need to coordinate closely with consumers and retailers, strengthen supervision of both production and the market, ensure transparency, and expand the PGS network. The annual PGS meeting is scheduled to be held on December 18 or 19, 2013.
