After harvest, organic vegetables must be preliminarily processed with clean water, kept separate from conventional products, and adhere to PGS labeling regulations.

Harvesting and preliminary processing
Requirements for primary processing water and product segregation
Harvested organic vegetables are preliminarily processed and washed using clean water, and must not be mixed with conventional produce. A maximum damage level of 10% is permitted on leafy vegetables due to the non-use of chemical pesticides.

Traceability
Only vegetables certified organic by PGS may be sold as ORGANIC and are permitted to use the PGS logo on product packaging. The packaging must display the intergroup code and the producer group code so that consumers can trace the origin.
