In recent years, to enhance the quality and value of agricultural products, many farms and cooperatives in Thach That District have accelerated the production of safe and organic vegetables. These models have gradually proven to yield high economic efficiency.

Effective models
VietGAP and organic vegetable models in Hanoi
Mr. Nguyen Do Ban, Director of Huong Ngai Agricultural Cooperative, said that the cooperative's vegetables all adhere to VietGAP safety processes. Farmers are regularly trained and practice proper cultivation techniques, using plant protection products and fertilizers correctly, allowing the cooperative's vegetable brand to win over demanding customers. Many products have been certified with 3 to 4 OCOP stars.
In Yen Binh commune, Hoa Vien Farm spans over 30 hectares and specializes in organic vegetable production, including many specialty wild vegetables and medicinal herbs that are available in modern retail channels and clean food store chains. With a rigorous production process and strict compliance with organic vegetable farming standards, the farm has achieved international certifications and continuously improved its product quality.
Income and production value
According to Hoang Chi Luong, Head of the Economic Department of Thach That District, the area has more than 200 hectares of safe vegetable production under the PGS model, concentrated in Huong Ngai, Di Nau, Yen Trung, Binh Yen, and Yen Binh communes. Farmers receive training on production processes, ensuring that products brought to market meet food safety standards.
On average, each model achieves 300 million VND/ha/year or more, with some models reaching 700-800 million VND/ha/year; the average income of workers in safe vegetable production models reaches 4-7 million VND/person/month.
Development direction
Alongside positive results, safe and organic vegetable production still faces challenges as the converted acreage remains small and fragmented, failing to form large-scale concentrated zones; branding and traceability remain underdeveloped, and market outlets are still precarious.
Thach That continues to build clean land banks in designated production zones, connect businesses with local farmers through off-take contracts, develop branding, and apply traceability stamps. The district also invests in roads, electricity, canals, storage facilities, and preliminary processing facilities in centralized production zones, helping increase farmers' income.
