Currently, many consumers are turning to clean or organic food. These are two completely different concepts, but many people easily confuse them: clean food still uses chemicals but without harming consumers, while organic products use none at all.

Clean food
Concepts and criteria for identifying clean food
According to experts, safe/clean food is food grown or raised that may still use chemicals such as pesticides, synthetic chemicals, etc. However, all chemicals are managed under regulated procedures ensuring that the final produce retains toxic chemical residues below permissible levels, causing no harm to consumer health.
Food is considered clean when, upon reaching consumers, it no longer contains impurities or biological pathogens, bears clear labels indicating its origin and traceability, and has been inspected, evaluated, and certified for food safety.
To choose clean food, look for fresh products with labels that allow you to trace their origin, and avoid those that are wilted, unusually colored or unlabeled.
Organic food
Organic food is attracting significant attention from smart consumers. Foods meeting organic standards must not use preservatives, flavorings, colorings, synthetic chemicals, growth hormones, or genetically modified ingredients.
Vegetables and fruits are grown naturally and nourished with natural fertilizers, without using any crop protection chemicals or synthetic fertilizers. Natural fertilizers are sourced from animal remains and compost made from decomposed plants. Pests are controlled using natural predators or other biological methods.
For meat, egg, and dairy products, the livestock feed chain consists of organic pasture and forage, free from genetically modified feed and growth hormone injections, with disease prevention through natural methods and regular access to open pasture.
Organic food cannot be kept for too long because it contains no preservatives. However, its freshness and nutritional content are 15% higher than those of conventional food.
- “100% Organic” label: food that contains no added substances.
- “Organic” label: for foods with more than 95% organic ingredients.
- “Made with Organic Ingredients” label: products contain at least 70% organic ingredients and no sulfites.
