Hot compost maximizes organic matter in the soil, helping to restore and maintain fertility. Healthy soil produces healthy crops and increases resistance to pests and diseases.

Hot composting
Materials and the role of the hot composting process
Hot compost provides a stable source of organic nutrients for crops, while the heat generated during the composting process helps destroy many pathogens and weed seeds. Green materials, straw, rice husks, and animal manure need to be mixed, kept moist, shielded from rain, and turned periodically so that the decomposition process occurs evenly.
Soil preparation
Treat the soil with solar heat, or use microbial preparations to eliminate sources of pests and diseases in the soil prior to planting.
