Fully aware of the crucial responsibility of food providers, Soi Bien Trung Thuc Joint Stock Company—with its chain of 40 stores across Hanoi districts that has partnered with PGS Vietnam (Participatory Guarantee System) farmers for the past 10 years—organized a training workshop on organic production knowledge and how to identify organic products for its staff.

Organic Identification Training at Soi Bien
The Role of Sales Staff in Identifying Organic Products
To convey knowledge to consumers and guide them in identifying organic food in an increasingly crowded market, sales staff play a vital role. As the direct link communicating product information to buyers, they must thoroughly understand the products, answer customer inquiries, and guide them in choosing trusted products amid today’s confusing maze of genuine and counterfeit goods.
Fully aware of this essential responsibility, Soi Bien Trung Thuc Joint Stock Company, whose chain of 40 stores throughout Hanoi has stood side by side with PGS Vietnam farmers for 10 years, organized a training workshop on organic production knowledge and organic product identification for its staff. On August 8, 2023, 25 key personnel from Soi Bien—including the Sales Director, legal officers, quality managers, regional managers, category managers, store managers, training department staff, and marketing team members—participated in the training. Mrs. Tu Thi Tuyet Nhung, Head of the PGS Vietnam Coordination Committee, along with two staff members from PGS and VOAA, shared knowledge on standards, certification, and hands-on experience in identifying organic foods.
The training session was lively and engaging, featuring in-depth questions rooted in practical scenarios encountered at Soi Bien, perspectives on standards and certification, and systematic approaches to distinguishing products labeled as "organic." With the information and insights shared, category teams can source reliable products, while sales staff are empowered to guide consumers in identifying and choosing authentic products. Through deep product understanding and the ability to address customer questions with confidence and friendliness, staff enhance customer satisfaction and build lasting trust between consumers and the business. When consumers have trust in organic products, it creates strong incentives for farmers to maintain good production practices.
Operating a chain of 40 clean food stores across Hanoi, Soi Bien has partnered with PGS farmers since its early days, sourcing and introducing organic vegetables into its distribution network. In 2023, Soi Bien organized an appreciation event honoring PGS farmers and currently stands as an exemplary member of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association (VOAA).
