Implementing Decision No. 258/QD-SNN&MT dated March 2, 2026, issued by the Quang Ninh Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Center for Agricultural Extension and Forest Protection and Development collaborated with the Luong Minh Commune People's Committee to hand over breeding bees and supplies to households participating in the model "Honey Beekeeping Linked with the Protection of Protection Forests and Special-Use Forests."

On May 15, 2026, in Khe Giay village, Luong Minh commune, the model was launched with a scale of 100 bee colonies allocated to 5 participating households. The participating households received 100% financial support for breeding stock and essential supplies; they also attended training courses on beekeeping techniques, disease prevention and control, and safe, sustainable colony management. Throughout implementation, technical staff from the Center will regularly monitor and provide direct guidance to ensure the model achieves maximum effectiveness.

All bee breeding stock was carefully selected, with queen bees bred using artificial insemination methods to guarantee genetic quality, colony growth and development capacity, and strong adaptability to local natural conditions. Beekeeping accessories and equipment—such as hives, frames, and care tools—were thoroughly inspected and approved according to proper specifications and technical standards before being handed over to the households.

The honey beekeeping model linked with protection and special-use forest conservation is evaluated as well-suited to the ecological conditions and the local orientation toward developing under-canopy forest economies. Luong Minh commune possesses extensive areas of natural and protection forests, diverse flora, and abundant wild nectar sources, creating favorable conditions for beekeeping to develop stably and yield high-quality honey.

In addition to economic efficiency, the model of honey beekeeping associated with forest protection carries practical significance for forest management, conservation, and development. By generating sustainable livelihoods under the forest canopy, local residents gain a stable income source, thereby raising awareness of forest preservation and curbing activities that adversely affect forest resources. This also represents a development path aligned with policies promoting ecological agriculture, green economies, and circular economies integrated with biodiversity conservation across the province.

At the handover ceremony, representatives of the participating households committed to strictly following technical protocols and managing and caring for the bee colonies according to the specialists' guidance; they also pledged to actively cooperate with local authorities in forest protection and ecological preservation. The distribution of breeding bees and beekeeping supplies also served as a practical activity celebrating "World Bee Day," contributing to raising public awareness of the role of bees in ecosystem protection and sustainable agricultural development.
