The Hue City People's Committee recently issued Official Dispatch No. 13655/UBND-CT dated September 10, 2026, on strengthening inspections of food supply at educational institutions in the area. This is a measure to implement Prime Minister's Directive No. 33/CT-TTg dated August 14, 2026, contributing to ensuring food safety, health, and the rights of students.
Comprehensive control and inspection, strict handling of violations
Scope of school food supply chain inspections
According to directives, the Department of Industry and Trade is tasked with leading and coordinating with the Department of Health, the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the City Police, the Market Surveillance Sub-department, commune and ward People's Committees, and the interdisciplinary inspection team to advise on establishing or supplementing members of the interdisciplinary inspection team pursuant to Decision No. 3992/QD-UBND dated December 29, 2025, of the Hue City People's Committee.
At the same time, relevant agencies will advise on developing plans for comprehensive inspections of food supply activities for preschools, primary schools, and educational institutions providing day-boarding or boarding services.
The inspection contents focus on legal records and food safety conditions; the origin, traceability, and quality of food; and procedures for storage, transportation, delivery, and receipt, along with other related matters.
Through inspections, any violations must be promptly detected, handled, or submitted to competent authorities for strict action in accordance with regulations. The review and inspection campaign is required to be completed in October 2026, with results reported to the City People's Committee before September 14, 2026.

Building safe food supply chains
The City People's Committee also requested maintaining quarterly periodic inspections and evaluations, as well as conducting unannounced inspections when necessary. This approach aims for regular oversight rather than focusing solely on peak campaigns.
Strict control of the food supply in schools is not only a food safety requirement, but it also contributes to creating a safe educational environment and raising the accountability of regulatory authorities, educational institutions, and food suppliers.
In the long run, oversight from origin and quality to storage, transportation, and delivery will contribute to building a transparent, safe, and responsible food supply chain. This also serves as a foundation for Hue to move toward sustainable educational development, where students' health is placed at the center./.
