Given the complex developments surrounding poisoning cases related to traditionally fermented sour fish in the area, leaders of Da Nang City have issued decisive directives to control the situation and ensure public safety. On March 31, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi conducted an on-site inspection, visited affected families, and worked with the authorities of Phuoc Nang Commune to assess local management efforts.
According to reports from commune leaders, the locality has implemented various measures to mitigate risks, focusing on public awareness campaigns and advising residents against consuming potentially hazardous fermented fish products. The commune administration also established task forces in each village for direct monitoring, while encouraging residents to voluntarily hand over high-risk foods. Hundreds of households were mobilized to sign commitments not to consume these items.

During the meeting, city leaders requested that the locality continue providing care and support to affected families, especially in monitoring their health post-treatment. At the same time, communes and wards must step up outreach so that residents fully understand the severe risks of consuming unhygienic traditional foods.
Notably, the city emphasized the responsibility of grassroots authorities in preventive action. In cases where food poisoning occurs due to lax oversight, local leadership will be strictly held accountable. This reflects a firm determination to tighten discipline and safeguard public health and lives.

In addition, authorities noted that international organizations have recently provided specific antidotes and medications for treatment. However, accessing such specialized medicine remains challenging and treatment costs are substantial. Therefore, the fundamental solution remains early prevention to minimize risks at their source.
With strong guidance from municipal leadership, Da Nang is striving to control the situation and raise community awareness about food safety, aiming to protect public health and maintain the city's reputation.
